Roles in myON
When users are added to myON, each is assigned a role based on what that person does in your schools and needs to do in the myON software. If users are created in myON, the role is chosen as the user is created. If myON is accessed from the Renaissance Home page, user roles in myON are based on each user's position in Renaissance as described below.
You cannot change a user's role after the user has been created in myON software. If user role changes are necessary, contact myON Support for assistance.
The following roles are available in myON:

| Faculty |
Faculty members who have students assigned to their roster can:
- read myON books
- view information and reports about students in their myON class
- assign projects to students in their class
- choose whether audio is available to the students in their class, and whether it is always available or only available on weekends
- set up groups for students in the class
- create/add students (if users are created directly in myON)

| Building Administrator |
Building administrators can:
- read myON books
- view information and supports about classes and students in their myON building/school
- set building-wide myON settings for quizzes, book reviews, book annotation tools, displayed metrics, available languages, and assessments
- assign projects to any students in their building/school
- restrict access to books by grade level within their building/school

District administrators can:
- read myON books
- view information and reports about all schools, rosters, and users
- set district account options, such as assessment availability, book restriction settings, project sharing settings, and user creation settings, and the start date for the school year
- set building-wide myON settings for one school or all schools
- restrict access to books by grade level at one or all schools
