What data can I see in the Skills Progress report?

The Skills Progress report can be used to identify gaps in students' K–9 focus skills (if they are using Freckle Premium integrated with Star Math assessments) or their high school math courses.

Options being selected for the Skills Progress Report. A class has already been chosen; the types of skills to view are being selected in the View Skills For drop-down list.

Focus Skills are only shown for teachers using Freckle Premium integrated with Star Math. High school skills (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2) are shown for any teacher whose students have practiced those skills.

Teachers can use the report to see which skills students have mastered (by answering 4 out of 5 questions related to that skill correctly). This makes it simple for teachers to identify gaps and target instruction accordingly. By selecting an item in the grid, teachers can see the name and description of each skill, along with a link to resources they can use.

An example Skills Progress Report. Focus skills for grades K through 9 are included; the students in the chosen class are arranged in a grid by level. Students' mastery of each skill is indicated by a color-coding system. One skill is being hovered over; a pop-up window shows the name of the skill, a description, and a link to resources for that skill.

The grid is color-coded so users can tell which skills students demonstrated mastery for in a Star Math assessment and which skills they have mastered during Freckle practice. Icons provide additional information:

A pointer icon. Current level.
A light green square. Skill mastered by Star Math assessment.
A dark green square. Skill mastered in Freckle Practice.
An orange alert icon. Student had low accuracy with the current skill.
A green check mark icon. Student has mastered all Focus Skills through their rostered grade level.
