Scaled Score (SS)
The Scaled Score (SS) is the most fundamental score produced by Star Math tests. It ranges from 0 to 1400 and spans grades 1 through 12. It is calculated based on the difficulty of the questions and the number of correct responses. The Scaled Score is useful for comparing student performance over time and across grades. In Star Math tests, all other norm-referenced scores are derived from the Scaled Score.
The Scaled Score is included in the Annual Progress Report, the Diagnostic Report, the Growth Report, the Instructional Planning - Class Report, the Instructional Planning - Student Report, the Parent Report, the Screening Report, the State Performance - Class Report, the State Performance - Student Report, the Student Progress Monitoring Report, the Summary Report, and the Test Record Report.
