What Is Star Early Literacy?

Star Early Literacy is a customized reading test for students to take on a computer. The test is designed for students in grades pre-K through 3 (beginning readers who do not yet read independently or need early literacy skills assessed).

Teachers can use reports from Star Early Literacy to determine the reading level of each student and to measure growth. Students can finish a Star Early Literacy test in about 15 minutes.

Parents can log in to Renaissance Place if a district level administrator or school level administrator has added them to the software, assigned their children, and provided the parents with the server address for the software and their user names and passwords.

When parents log in to the software, they can view their children's reports for the Renaissance Place programs their children are using. For Star Early Literacy, parents can view the Parent Report in English or Spanish. A link to this report is on the Home page for parents under Star Early Literacy.
