Summary Report
Who can do this with default capabilities?
District Level Administrators, District Staff, School Level Administrators, School Staff, Teachers
This report summarizes students' test results. It includes each student's name, age, last test date, Grade Placement (GP), Scaled Score (SS), Estimated Oral Reading Fluency (Est. ORF), Sub-domain Scores, and Literacy Classification. The report also shows which students have not taken a Star Early Literacy assessment yet and the Sub-domain Score distribution.
- Click Star Early Literacy on the Home page, then click Reports to begin printing the report.

Select your school from the School drop-down list, if necessary.

On the Select Report page, select Summary.

Select the options you want to customize for this report on the Report Options page. When you customize this report, you can choose these options:
Use the drop-down list to choose all the students in a specific class, or click Students, Classes, or Groups to choose specific students, classes, or groups.
"Groups" refers to groups of students that have been created specifically for reporting purposes.
- When selecting specific students, you will see a checklist of all students enrolled in Star Early Literacy classes. Check each student you want on the report, or check the Student box at the top of the column to select all of them.
- When selecting specific classes, you will see a checklist of all Star Early Literacy classes. Check each class you want on the report, or check the Class box at the top of the column to select all of them.
- When selecting specific groups, you will see a checklist of all student groups in Star Early Literacy classes. Check each group you want on the report, or check the Group box at the top of the column to select all of them.
Once the desired students, classes, or groups have been selected and saved, you will return to the Report Options page.
Reporting Parameter Group
Choose the time period that you want the report to cover.
Use the Predefined Date Range drop-down list to choose a marking period or school year.
To specify a different time period, choose Custom Dates, then type the start and end dates for the time period in the appropriate blank fields. (You can also select the calendar buttons to choose the dates instead.)
Note: Only district level administrators and school level administrators can run a Summary Report for previous school years.
Choose whether to include all details or only the summary. If you choose only the summary, you will see the Sub-domain Score Distribution table and the number of students in each Scaled Score range and Literacy Classification, but not the detailed information for each individual student.
Note: If you choose to include only the summary, the Sort By option is not available.
Choose whether to group students on the reports by class, grade, teacher, or choose not to group them.
Note: This report uses both the Group By and Sort By options; if a Group By option is chosen, it is applied first on the report.
Choose whether to sort students by last name, test date, or rank.

Use this option to print a list of the options you've chosen on the report. If you decide to run the report again at a later date, you can refer to this list of options to make sure you're using the same ones.

Click View Report when you are finished choosing options.

Star Early Literacy will generate the report. When it's ready, the report will open in Adobe Reader, or your default PDF reader.
