Things to Remember About Responders
Renaissance Responders and NEO 2 will no longer be supported after future software updates.
Model Types
There are two models of Renaissance Responders: RES-1001 or RESP. To identify the models, look at the number on the back of unit. For more information, see Responder Models, Firmware Versions, and Updates.
Firmware
Each Renaissance Responders model (see above) has different versions of firmware. The firmware determines what type of MathFacts work your students will be able to do. For more information, see Responder Models, Firmware Versions, and Updates.
To do MathFacts in a Flash work, your students need

Responder model RES-1001 using firmware version 2.xx.

Responder model RESP using firmware version 4.03 and above and either MathFacts in a Flash Offline or MathFacts in a Flash Renaissance Place
Note: Can be used for both offline and online MathFacts in a Flash work
Note: You cannot upgrade a Responder from one model to another, but you can upgrade Responder model RESP from firmware version 4.01 to firmware version 4.03 and above.
Renaissance Receiver
The Responder communicates with MathFacts in a Flash RP via a Renaissance Receiver. For more information, see What is a Renaissance Receiver.
Student User Names and Passwords
You can see and print a list of student user names and passwords.
Language
MathFacts in a Flash on Renaissance Responder is English only.
Online vs. Offline Work
Student work done using MathFacts in a Flash on Responder is either online or offline. The table below compares the two types of work.

Work done is reported the same as work done when students log in to Renaissance Place on a computer or when students use the NEO 2 MathFacts in a Flash RP SmartApplet. The work appears in the Assignment Book and in reports. |
