Name the Renaissance Receiver

Renaissance Responders and NEO 2 will no longer be supported after future software updates.

Before students can practice or test in MathFacts in a Flash using NEO 2s or Renaissance Responders, you must name the Renaissance Receiver. This is especially important if your school has more than one Receiver. Use a unique name for each computer/Receiver combination so that students know they're connecting to the right Receiver.

Use the Renaissance Wireless Server Utility to name the Receiver. The Renaissance Wireless Server Utility is automatically installed with NEO Manager.

Before you follow these steps, make sure NEO Manager is installed on your computer. (See the NEO 2 Quick Guide.)

  1. Start the Renaissance Wireless Server Utility. On most Windows computers, you will find it in the Start menu; in Windows 8, you will find it in the list of applications. On Macintosh computers, you will find it in the Applications folder.
  2. Select Start if necessary.
  3. Type 1234 and select OK to log in. (This is the default Administrator PIN. If you have changed the PIN, enter your new PIN.)
    1. Select the Server Settings tab.
    2. Select Set Administrator PIN.
    3. Enter the new pin.
    4. Enter the new PIN again, to confirm.
    5. Select OK.
  4. Select the Server Settings tab.
  5. Enter a new name in the Network Name field. The default network name is "Renaissance Receiver".
  6. Make sure the name you enter is different from the name of your school's other Receivers and easy for your students to recognize.

  7. Select Update Network Settings.
  8. When the program finishes updating the network settings, select OK. Make sure your students know the Renaissance Receiver (network) name to select.

You also need to set the Renaissance Place Settings (your Renaissance Place site address) so that students can do online MathFacts in a Flash work.
