Editing the Mandatory Practice Preference
Who can do this with default capabilities?
District Administrator, School Administrator, Teacher
Note: District staff and school staff can view the setting, but they cannot change it.
The Mandatory Practice preference allows you to require your students to complete a practice after failing the first test at a new level. With the default setting, students are required to practice after the first test on a level.
This preference affects:
This preference does not affect:
- NEO 2 using the MathFacts in a Flash (offline) SmartApplet
- Renaissance Responders that are using a firmware version lower than 4.03 or that are using MathFacts in a Flash Offline
- Renaissance Home Connect
To edit the preference:

On the Home page, select MathFacts in a Flash, then Preferences as shown below.

If necessary, use the School and Class drop-down lists to choose the school and class.

Under the Classroom Preferences, select Mandatory Practice.

- Check the box if you want to require a practice when the student fails the first test for a level.

To return to the default setting (practice is required), select Default.

Select Save.
