Viewing a Student's Points Records

In Accelerated Reader, students earn points as they pass Reading Practice Quizzes. You can also award points that have been earned outside of Accelerated Reader and you can record points that students "spend" or use in classroom activities. By following the steps below, you can view the points records (earned, awarded, and used, as well as total points available) for the students in a class.

Note: Points awarded do not count toward Reading Practice points goals; only points earned from quizzes count toward the goals.

Who can do this with standard capabilities?

District Administrators, School Administrators, Teachers

  1. On the Home page, if you see Accelerated Reader, click it, then click Record Books and Goals.
  2. If you have the Accelerated Reader 360 Suite, select Independent Reading, then Record Books and Goals.

  3. If necessary, choose a school and class from the drop-down lists. (If you want only the Accelerated Reader RP classes you're assigned to as a teacher to be in the class list, regardless of the school, choose My Classes instead of a school.)
  4. Click Points Management in the list of Other Activities on the Class Record Books page.
  5. For each student, the list on the View Points Records page shows the points that student earned on Reading Practice Quizzes, the points you have awarded the student, the points the student has used, and the total points the student has available based on points earned, awarded, and used.
  6. You can view this information for the entire school year or a specific marking period. To choose the time period for which you want to view points information, choose a new marking period or the school year from the Marking Period drop-down list.

If you want to choose a different class to view, choose the class you want from the Class drop-down list.

  7. To view records for a specific student, click the student's name.
  8. When you do this, the View Student Points Records page opens. This page lists the records of points awarded and used for this student. If the list is long, click Next >> or << Previous to move through it.

To view a different student's records, choose a student from the Student drop-down list.

  9. Click Return to Class View to go back to the class View Points Records page.
