Star Reader
There are several reader certification goals that you can set for your students. Each one has its own requirements that students must meet to be certified at that level. Star Reader is one of the reader certification levels.
Certification goals are different from the Reading Practice goals (percent correct, average book level, and points).
To earn Star Reader, the student must Independently read three books with a 4.0 or higher ATOS book level (or 660L Lexile® Measure) that are each worth at least four points. The student must also meet the minimum scoring requirements in the Certifications Preference for the quizzes taken on the books.
We recommend that a student recertify no more than five times at this level.
A Star Reader certification goal must be set for students in order for the software to track the students' progress toward the certification and award it automatically. The TWI Monitoring Preference setting also affects whether the student's progress is tracked and the certificate is awarded automatically.
You can print customizable award certificates using the Reader Certification Certificates.
