Literacy Skills Passing Percent Preference

You can use the Literacy Skills Passing Percent preference to set the minimum percentage a student must score to pass a Literacy Skills Quiz.

Literacy Skills Quizzes are 12 or 24 questions long. The default passing percentage is 70%.

Literacy Skills Passing Percent is part of the group of School Student Quizzing preferences.

To view or change the Literacy Skills Passing Percent preference setting, follow these steps:

  1. On the Home page, if you see Accelerated Reader, click it, then click Preferences.

    If you have the Accelerated Reader 360 Suite, select Independent Reading, then Preferences.

  2. Click Student Quizzing in the School Preferences section of the Preferences page.
  3. If necessary, choose a school from the School drop-down list on the View School Student Quizzing Preferences page. If you scroll down, you can see the current setting of the Literacy Skills Passing Percent preference for the school.

If you are a school administrator or district administrator, you will also have an Edit Student Quizzing link at the top of the page. If you want to change the Literacy Skills Passing Percent preference, select the link.

You can then change the Literacy Skills Passing Percent preference setting for the selected school; you will find the preference about halfway down the page. Click the drop-down list and choose the passing percentage that you prefer. If you change this setting or other settings on the page, click Save to save your changes or Cancel to leave the page without saving.
