The Goal-Setting Chart is one of the Resources available to help you implement Accelerated Reader in your classroom. You can find this chart in the Forms and Charts section on the Resources page.
The Goal-Setting Chart is a useful tool in setting Reading Practice goals in Accelerated Reader. The chart lists Grade Equivalent (GE) scores along with a suggested Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) range (the range of ATOS book levels that should be appropriate for different reading levels or GEs), as well as the expected points students could earn given 60, 30, or 20 minutes of daily, in-class reading time. Use the chart as a flexible guideline for setting personalized, realistic goals with your students based on their ATOS reading levels, amount of practice time, and need for success or challenge.
The Goal-Setting Chart for Lexile® Measures is also available from the Forms and Charts section of the Resources. Use this chart if the current book level has been changed to the Lexile® Measures throughout the software. Similar to the Goal-Setting Chart mentioned above, this chart will help you set Reading Practice goals when the Lexile® Measure is being used. Use this chart as a flexible guideline for setting personalized, realistic goals with your students based on their Lexile® Measure reading levels, amount of practice time, and need for success or challenge.
