Removing Objectives from a List

Follow the steps below to remove objectives from objective lists. If more than one class is using an objective list, please keep in mind that your changes will affect all classes that are using the list. (To see which classes are using a list, click View/Edit Lists when you get to the Manage Objectives page.)

Who can do this with default capabilities?

District Administrators, District Staff, School Administrators, School Staff, Teachers

List owners can remove objectives from their lists. Administrators can remove objectives from lists in their school(s). You cannot remove objectives from the standard library lists, but you can copy the list and change the copy.

  1. Select the green Accelerated Math tile (shown below) on the Home page; then, select Assignment Book.

The Assignment Book lists the students who are in one class. The class name is shown above the list of students. If you have access to more than one Accelerated Math school, use the School drop-down list to choose the school for which you want to view a class Assignment Book. If you have more than one class, and you want to select a different class, click the Class drop-down list and select the class name. If the objective list is being used by a specific group, select the group from the Group drop-down list.

  2. Select the green Accelerated Math tile (shown below) on the Home page; then, select Extended Response.

The Extended Response page lists the students who are in one class. The class name is shown above the list of students. If you have access to more than one Accelerated Math school, use the School drop-down list to choose the school for which you want to view class extended response assignments. If you have more than one class, and you want to select a different class, click the Class drop-down list and select the class name.

Select the green Accelerated Math tile (shown below) on the Home page; then, select Libraries.

The Libraries page will list the libraries that are available for one school. If you have access to more than one school, and you want to choose a different school, select the school from the School drop-down list.

  3. Click Manage Objectives on the left side of the page. The Manage Objectives page will appear next.
  4. If you came from the Libraries page, click the Objective List drop-down menu and select the objective list. If you came from the Assignment Book, you can select a different group or the class from the Group drop-down list; this determines which objective list you are working with.
  5. Click Add/Remove. The Add/Remove Objectives page will appear.
  6. The Add/Remove Objectives page lists the libraries from which you can remove objectives. You can scroll through the list on the right side of the page and click X next to each objective that you want to remove, or you can use the drop-down list to choose how you want to search for objectives to remove: by library, by searching for an objective name, or by searching a state standard code. For more information, click one of the links below.
  7. If you chose to search by library, you can remove some or all of a library's objectives from this list:

    • In the list of libraries, click Remove for a library if you want to find and remove specific objectives that come from that library. On the Remove Objectives page, check the box next to each objective that you want to remove. You can select all the objectives on the page by checking the box next to Objective at the top of the list. If the list is long, only some of the objectives will be shown; click to see the next group, to go back to the previous group, to go to the last group, or to go back to the first group. (You can also use the drop-down list to select a specific group of objectives by number.) Click Remove to remove the selected objectives and return to the Add/Remove Objectives page.
    • In the list of libraries, click Remove All if you want to remove all objectives in that library from this objective list.

If you chose to search by objective name, enter part of the objective name and click Search. The search results will show the matching objectives that aren't in your objective list and those that are. To remove objectives that are in your list, check the box next to the objectives you want to remove; then, click Remove. (If you want to limit your search to certain libraries, click Advanced Search before you begin your search; then, check the libraries, and click Select to return to the search page, where you can then enter the name you want to search for in those libraries.)

If you chose to search by state standard code, enter all or part of the code and click Search. The search results will show the matching objectives that aren't in your objective list and those that are. To remove objectives that are in your list, check the box next to the objectives you want to remove; then, click Remove. (If you want to limit your search to certain libraries, click Advanced Search before you begin your search; then, check the libraries, and click Select to return to the search page, where you can then enter the standard code you want to search for in those libraries.)

Within the list on the right side of the page (or in search results), click to see sample problems for an objective. If the icon is available, click it to see a worked example for the objective. Worked examples show you the steps required to solve a sample problem and the answer.

Objectives marked with are core objectives.

  8. When you have finished deleting objectives, click Done. You will return to the Manage Objectives page.
