Navigator

The STAR District Dashboard Navigator page shows you the dashboards that have already been created, and allows you to create new dashboards and delete existing dashboards.

The first time you come to this page there will be several "out of the box" dashboards already created. You can scroll through the dashboard thumbnails to see which ones are available, or select a thumbnail to view the actual dashboard.

The dashboards are in alphabetical order by title (numbers – symbols – letters). New dashboards appear at the start (left) of the flow.

Dashboard title.

Dashboards can have multiple views. The thumbnail image here reflects the view that was active the last time the dashboard was opened: quadrant, stack, or expanded. For example, if you opened a dashboard which was in the quadrant view, switched to the stack view, then closed the dashboard, the thumbnail for that dashboard would change from the quadrant view to the stack view.

The icon in the lower-right corner indicates what family the dashboard's primary metric belongs to: STAR 360, AR 360, AM 2.0, or School Demographics. Changing a dashboard's primary metric will change the icon on the thumbnail.

The color palette for the thumbnails is red/yellow/green if the school groups on the dashboard were automatically created (this will be the case for all out-of-the-box dashboards). If you create your own groups and make a dashboard for those groups, the secondary color palette (orange/blue/violet/teal) will be used on the thumbnail.

The example above is for a dashboard measuring high school growth, with the primary metric in STAR 360, using automatically created school groups, and last viewed as a quadrant.

An out-of-the-box dashboard that is new or has been updated since you last viewed it will have a banner indicating the change across the lower-left corner. Once you view the new or updated dashboard, the banner will be removed.

You can delete a dashboard by selecting the X in the upper-right corner of the thumbnail. Be very certain that you want to delete a dashboard—once deleted, a dashboard cannot be recovered.

To add a new dashboard, select the New Dashboard button . (Once you have created a new dashboard, a thumbnail for it will be added to this page.)
